Three structured clinical programs that identify what's actually driving your gut symptoms, and address it properly. For people who have tried everything else and are ready to stop guessing.
You know where every bathroom is. In the shopping centre. At work. At your friend's house. On the highway. You might not have noticed you do this — you've been doing it long enough that it feels like a personality trait rather than a coping strategy. But that's what it is.
Then there's the food. You used to eat for pleasure. Now you eat defensively. You've said no to the meal you wanted more times than you can count, because you've learned what happens when you don't.
You've probably built a life that looks fine from the outside and feels smaller than it should from the inside. You cancel more than you'd like. You plan around your gut more than any person should have to.
And you've tried. The elimination diets, the probiotics, the cleanses, the gut healing protocols, the supplements that sit half-used in the cupboard. Some of it helped a little. Most of it didn't. None of it held.
You've probably been told at some point that this is just IBS. Just stress. Just hormonal. Just part of getting older. Just something you have to manage. The word that keeps coming up is just, and it has slowly taught you to stop expecting an answer.
The answer exists. It just requires a different approach than the one you've been trying.
"Gut health" has become a catch-all term. Most protocols you'll find online treat every gut symptom as one problem with one solution. That's why they work for some people and backfire badly for others.
There are five distinct functional drivers behind chronic gut symptoms: low stomach acid and digestive insufficiency, dysbiosis and SIBO, motility dysfunction, stress-driven gut-brain dysregulation, and food reactivity. Each has a completely different treatment approach. Most people have two or three active at once.
If you've tried protocols that worked brilliantly for your friend and made you worse — probiotics that caused more bloating, fibre that worsened your constipation, fermented foods that flared you, elimination diets that just led to more restriction — it's almost certainly because the protocol was treating a different pattern than the one you have.
Here's what your clients have walked in believing, that turned out not to be true.
The reason most protocols don't hold long-term isn't the individual intervention. It's the sequence. A well-chosen probiotic given at the wrong phase of treatment makes things worse. A dietary change made before the underlying driver is identified usually has to be redone. Treatment that skips straight to killing bacteria without addressing why they overgrew leads to relapse within months.
Every program we run follows the same three-phase structure, sequenced properly.
This is where proper testing earns its place. A SIBO breath test identifies bacterial overgrowth and which gas type is dominant (treatment differs significantly between them). The Microba microbiome map shows the complete gut ecosystem, what's missing, what's present that shouldn't be. Clinical history identifies the upstream factors — motility, stomach acid status, past gastro events, medication history, nervous system state — that allowed the current pattern to develop.
The mistake most programs make is treating one without the other. Antimicrobial or antibiotic treatment reduces bacterial overgrowth. At the same time, we address whatever allowed the overgrowth in the first place. If motility is the driver, that gets worked on now. If low stomach acid is the driver, we work on that in the same window. Treating upstream and downstream in parallel is the reason this approach stops relapsing.
The microbiome that's left after treatment needs to be supported and expanded. This is where specific probiotics, prebiotics introduced carefully, dietary diversity, and nervous system work matter. Rush this phase and the next stressor brings symptoms straight back. Done properly, this is where the lasting resolution happens — and where food reintroduction expands your diet rather than shrinking it further.
You've probably heard that "gut health is everything" enough times that the phrase has stopped meaning anything. Here's the specific version, with actual mechanisms.
The gut is not a standalone organ. It's wired into your immune system, hormone system, nervous system, and metabolic pathways through researched pathways that get more clinically significant every year. When the gut is compromised, downstream systems compensate. When the gut is restored, those systems stop having to.
The vagus nerve carries signals in both directions between gut and brain. The microbiome produces roughly 90% of the serotonin in your body. When gut bacteria are dysregulated, the brain receives distress signals constantly. Anxiety, low mood, and brain fog often resolve alongside gut symptoms once the underlying driver is addressed.
About 70% of the immune system lives in the gut wall. Chronic dysbiosis drives low-grade systemic inflammation, which underlies most chronic disease. Recurrent colds, sinus issues, chronic nasal congestion, and autoimmune flares often sit downstream of what's happening in the gut.
The microbiome metabolises oestrogen through a system called the estrobolome. Dysbiosis disrupts hormone clearance and contributes to PMS, painful periods, heavy bleeding, and perimenopausal symptoms. Period pain reducing after proper gut treatment is one of the most common reports we hear from women in our programs.
Nutrient absorption depends entirely on gut function. Chronic fatigue, iron deficiency despite adequate diet, persistent low B12 and zinc, and exercise intolerance frequently trace back to absorption issues further upstream. Restored energy is one of the most consistent outcomes clients report during and after their programs.
Eczema, acne, rosacea, and psoriasis all have well-documented clinical links to gut dysbiosis and intestinal permeability. Treating skin at the surface without addressing the gut often means managing flares indefinitely. Skin improvements alongside gut resolution are common enough that we often see them before the client does.
Gut bacteria produce GABA precursors and other sleep-regulating compounds. Chronic gut dysbiosis is associated with non-restorative sleep, frequent waking, and the kind of tiredness that doesn't respond to more hours in bed. Deeper, more settled sleep is a frequent unexpected outcome of properly treating the gut.
The point isn't that fixing your gut will fix everything. The point is that if the gut is driving downstream dysfunction across multiple systems, you'll keep chasing symptoms forever while the source is ignored. Addressing the gut properly is often the single most leveraged thing you can do for your overall health.
We don't trade in before-and-after photo promises. We don't claim cures. What we do see, consistently, across the clients who complete these programs properly, are a set of outcomes that sound small on paper and feel enormous in actual life.
Every program follows the same clinical structure. Duration and testing depth differ between tiers, but the approach is consistent: identify, treat, stabilise. Here's what a 6-month Comprehensive program looks like, as an illustration.
The comprehensive intake lands in your inbox within minutes of purchasing. You complete it before your initial consult. Your Microba collection kit is posted to your home so the sample can be collected and sent off in time for results to be back by your results appointment.
Your practitioner has read your intake before you meet. The 60 minutes is spent on clinical conversation and pattern identification, not paperwork. You leave with a working hypothesis, a GP blood test referral letter, and your initial protocol delivered within 48 hours.
Quick pulse check. Are the dietary changes happening? Are the supplements being taken correctly? Are GP bloods back? Any early flares? This appointment keeps the program on track through the critical first weeks.
A short, scheduled call to troubleshoot anything that's come up and keep momentum moving into the results appointment. Included in Comprehensive and Complex Case tiers.
Your practitioner walks you through everything — microbiome findings, SIBO test results, blood results, clinical observations from the first six weeks. The complete treatment protocol is delivered with a full written summary within 48 hours. This is the most clinically dense appointment of the program.
This is where the treatment does its work. Regular clinical monitoring ensures the protocol adjusts as the picture evolves. Fortnightly protocol coaching emails keep momentum between appointments. Priority email support is always available for questions.
A full review against baseline. Tonsil size or gut symptom severity, frequency, food tolerance, sleep, energy, skin, mood — all compared to where you started. A package completion summary is delivered. If ongoing support is warranted, we discuss the options. If you're sorted, you're sorted.
All three programs follow the same clinical structure. What differs is the depth of testing, the duration of treatment, and which practitioner leads your care. Flexible monthly payment plans are available on all tiers (3 months for Foundations, 5 for Comprehensive, 7 for Complex Case).
For relatively recent or uncomplicated gut presentations where microbiome-only testing is clinically adequate.
Or 3 monthly payments of $466. Standalone initial consultations: $215 (Zenobia), $235 (Alice), $290 (Kelly).
For most presentations involving SIBO, food reactivity, multiple co-occurring drivers, or symptoms that have been present for years.
Or 5 monthly payments of $420. The choice of most clients.
For long-standing, complex presentations. Multiple failed interventions, co-occurring conditions, or the most resistant cases. Kelly only.
Or 7 monthly payments of $557. Delivered personally by Kelly.
I'm Kelly, naturopath, mum of three, and clinically focused on the gap between what people are told about their gut and what's actually driving their symptoms.
The KAN Clinic was built for the people who've been handed "just IBS," "just stress," "just hormonal," or "just something you'll have to manage," when their instinct was that something specific was being missed. For the people whose lives have quietly shrunk around a gut that doesn't work properly, and who are ready to stop managing it and start addressing it.
Chronic gut symptoms almost always have a specific driver. In ten years of clinical practice working with complex gut presentations, I've yet to meet a client where the driver couldn't be identified, addressed, and at minimum used to meaningfully improve their situation.
Our Gut Health Programs are the clinical pathways I wish every person with chronic gut symptoms had access to from the start. Our naturopathic team, led by senior naturopath Alice with Zenobia joining our practice, delivers these programs with the same clinical rigour I bring to my own caseload. The most complex cases come directly to me.
Real client reviews from our clinic. Video testimonials and detailed case studies from recent clients are in production and will be added here as they're completed.
"I was recommended to Kelly by a relative due to my gut health and digestive issues that have been ongoing for years. It made day to day life a struggle always being in pain and constantly having to watch what I ate."
"With Kelly being so prompt and knowledgeable with her step to step guides and supplements, I am finally pain free and able to enjoy a wide variety of foods that I love and have missed without worrying about symptoms."
Highly recommended.
"I have been seeing Kelly for a range of issues (women's health, post-Covid issues, and digestion issues). I feel like she is the only health professional who really listens to what I'm saying."
"Kelly is incredibly knowledgeable and explains treatment plans in a language I understand."
Highly recommend.

Loose rule of thumb: if your primary pattern is low stomach acid, motility, or stress-driven gut-brain dysfunction and symptoms are relatively recent, Foundations is usually enough. If your primary pattern is dysbiosis/SIBO or food reactivity, or if you've had symptoms for several years, Comprehensive is typically the right fit because the SIBO breath test genuinely changes what we do. Complex Case is for long-standing presentations with multiple failed prior treatments, significant co-occurring conditions, or where the additional intestinal permeability testing will meaningfully change the clinical approach.
Yes, and we actively encourage it where appropriate. If you're on medications or under specialist care for other conditions, we work alongside that. We can provide clinical summaries for your GP or specialist if that's helpful for integrated care. The program doesn't replace medical management — it complements it.
Your pre-consultation intake form arrives in your inbox within minutes of booking. Your Microba collection kit is posted to your home. You schedule your initial consultation at a time that suits. You complete the intake before your first appointment so your practitioner arrives already thinking about your specific presentation.
Honest answer: depends on the pattern, the duration of the condition, how cleanly the protocol is implemented, and whether there are complicating factors. Most clients notice meaningful shifts in the first 2-3 months. Full resolution of long-standing patterns often takes the complete program length. Some patterns (food reactivity in particular) continue improving for 12+ months as the gut rebuilds. We'll be realistic with you about timelines at your initial consult.
We prescribe what your clinical picture actually needs, not a kitchen-sink stack. A typical supplement spend during the active treatment phase is $100-300 per month, depending on the protocol. Comprehensive and Complex Case clients get 10% off all supplement orders during the program. We're transparent about costs and will tell you the estimated spend at your initial consult.
Yes. If your clinical picture evolves and it becomes clear that SIBO testing or additional support is warranted, you can upgrade at the price difference plus any additional testing costs. No penalty, no pressure. This happens occasionally and it's fine.
Not Medicare. Naturopathic consultations are covered by many Australian private health extras funds (Bupa, HCF, NIB, Medibank and others depending on your level of cover). Contact your fund to confirm your entitlement. Functional testing — Microba, SIBO breath test, lactulose/mannitol — is not claimable. Standard GP bloods are Medicare-rebatable.
Genuine clinical question. A "clear" microbiome result is itself clinically useful — it tells us the gut ecosystem isn't the primary driver, and we refocus on the other patterns (motility, stomach acid, food reactivity, nervous system). The investigation is not dependent on any single test showing dramatic abnormality. It's one piece of a multi-part clinical assessment, and the clinical conversation matters as much as the results.
Telehealth across Australia. Start within days of purchasing. Monthly payment plans available on all three tiers.
